A preliminary research on algal bloom determination: a case of inlet Tasik Putrajaya
This research is a preliminary work to assess algal bloom development in relation to environmental factors. The work involves short-term measurement of meteorological conditions, water quality sampling, and aquatic life that influence algal bloom. Measurement were carried out in one of the bays in Putrajaya Lake. This preliminary study showed the complex relationship influencing algal development and bloom formation. Besides nutrient factors, meteorological conditions such as rainfall amount, and temperature and other environmental variables such as turbidity plays a role in developing algal bloom.
