Ecosystem Services Economic Valuation for Putrajaya Lake, Putrajaya and Muda Reservoir, Kedah.

This research was carried out to determine the economic values of ecosystem services under the impact of climate vulnerability. Data collection involving economic survey was performed covering respondents in two lake basins namely Putrajaya Lake in Putrajaya and Muda Reservoir in Kedah. Evaluation was based on direct valuation of damage resulting from extreme climate and indirect valuation using contingent valuation method. Consultations with stakeholders in both lake basins were performed to obtain additional data and responses on the main ecosystem services and existing values. The findings of the study showed higher damage costs were recorded in Putrajaya Lake compared to Muda reservoir because of numerous infrastructure and facilities in Putrajaya.
