NAHRIM OIL AND FAT WASTE TRAP (NOFAT) EFFECTIVENESS IN REMOVING FAT, OIL AND GREASE (FOG) FORM FOOD PREMISES EFFLUENT

Malaysian urban areas have multiplied their population and this has led to an increase in food premises such as restaurants and hawker stalls. this phenomenon has allowed effluent with high contents of food waste and fat, oil, and grease (FOG) to be released into the river system. NAHRIM Oil and Food Waste Trap (NOFAT) was innovated to help remove oil and grease residues in kitchen effluent. during the sampling process, the FOG load of three food premises was examined and samples were taken before and after treated with NOFAT to identify the effects. The average loading count of FOG from three food premises before being treated with grease trap are 0.1047 kg/s. After being treated with NOFAT the average FOG load decreased to 0.0098kg/s where this design has achieved 90.6% FOG removal
