MICROPLASTICS: WHAT SHOULD WE KNOW?
The ever-increasing production of plastic and the less effective management of plastic disposal have led to microplastic pollution where plastic breakdown into fragments measuring 5 mm or less. Microplastics are nonbiodegradable. Therefore, once they are released into the environment, primary and secondary microplastics will accumulate and persist. Their presence are substantial and has become a global threat due to significant economic and ecological degradation as well as human health risk
