The background of this research is to study and develop a smart system for rating and ranking of rivers in Malaysia. The research could help and decide the performance of the rivers in Malaysia to assist the government and other related agencies in making important decisions for example in funding expenditure for upgrades relating to the rivers, levels of cleanliness or pollution of the rivers and other related aspects with greater efficiency.
