ANALYSING THE IMPACTS OF SEA LEVEL RISE ON COASTAL PROJECTS – MALAYSIA PERSPECTIVE
Sea level rise (SLR) have potentials to change coastal natural processes, marine habitats and ecosystems which will be affecting the infrastructure and socio-economy of the local communities. Disaster can be minimized/avoided with KNOWLEDGE and PREPAREDNESS. Impact assessment of the coastal vulnerability need to be carried out in coastal zones to evaluate their vulnerability against the disasters caused by global warming and climate change. The output from the assessment will help the implementing agencies to plan and prepare appropriate adaptation measures to minimize the impacts of SLR and storm surge.
