Laporan Kerja Ukur di Muara Sg. Golok, Kelantan (Post-Monsoon 2022/2023)
The Coastal Zone Management Division, Jabatan Pengairan dan Saliran Malaysia (JPS) has engaged National Water Research Institute of Malaysia (NAHRIM) to carry out bathymetric and topographic survey work at Sg. Golok, Kelantan for post-monsoon 2022/2023. The project tittle “PROJEK PEMULIHARAAN MUARA-MUARA SUNGAI DI PELBAGAI NEGERI - Kerja Ukur di Muara Sg. Golok, Kelantan (Post-Monsoon 2022)”. The project is a joint venture between Malaysia and Thailand since the river is located within the border of Tumpat, Kelantan and Tak Bai, Thailand. The survey work was carried out alternately with the Thailand government based on the monsoonal season. The project at Sg. Golok is located in the Northern part of Tumpat district, Kelantan State, Malaysia and the Southern part of Tak Bai district, Narathiwat Province, Thailand. The coordinate of the river mouth of Sg. Golok is approximately 6.2446°N; 102.0908°E and lies on the border between Malaysia and Thailand. Sg. Golok river will flow to the South China Sea with a dominant sandy beach spotted along the shoreline. The survey involved a bathymetric survey within Sg. Golok river mouth, their adjacent shoreline and topographic survey along the bathymetric survey lines.
