Development of Timah Tasoh and Melati Lake Integrated Lake Basin Management Plan (ILBMP): Socio-Economic and Institutional Assessment
A lake that is well-kept and managed is highly prized for its recreational, aesthetic, and water supply value. The goal of this study was to learn about the environmental performance and quality of the lake management plan and find ways to improve it. The current governance structure and system, as well as the policy direction affecting the lake basins of Timah Tasoh Lake and Melati Lake, were analyzed in this study as well. Several analyses were used in this research, including a PESTLE analysis based on the 6 pillars of governance that aid in decision-making, as well as studies to track changes in water quality and provide safeguards for both Timah Tasoh and Melati Lakes. According to the results, the lake basin’s current management is not sufficient to ensure its long-term viability, particularly in regard to water management. Therefore, this research has focused on highlighting a few water management changes, such as the economic and social demands, and the water system, to guarantee the improved performance of the current lake. As a result of compiling this information, we can work toward more effective future strategies and plans for the lake basin’s sustainable use and management.
