Constructed wetlands are a mimic of the natural wetlands and categorize as Nature Based Solution (NBS). It is eco-hydrology engineered treatment system that have the potential to provide effective mechanisms in treating varies type of wastewater, particularly sewage water and stormwater depending to the purpose of it designs. Many different constructed wetlands designs have been developed throughout the world. Constructed wetland that properly designed, constructed, serviced and maintained will be capable to provide long-term and reliable treatment system of sewage water. This guideline focuses on surface flow constructed wetland. The guideline consists of recommendations for plan, design and planting of constructed wetlands plants to treat sewage water and primarily targeted for use in Malaysia's island.
